The Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute (NLCI) is seeking a full-time,  Board Certified Medical Physicist to join our team which oversees two busy Radiation Oncology centers located in Monroe and West Monroe, Louisiana.   The successful candidate  will be actively working alongside two Board Certified Radiation Oncologists, two Board Certified Medical Physicists, three Certified Medical Dosimetrists and ten Registered Radiation Therapists.   This position is led by the Director of Medical Physics.  

The NLCI is a Novalis Certified Radiosurgery Center and provides a full range of radiation therapy procedures, including SRS, SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, Partial Breast Irradiation, Respiratory Gated Radiotherapy, HDR Brachytherapy, and Radionuclide Treatment.    Equipment in use at the Cancer Institute includes a Varian Truebeam STX with image guidance and BrainLab Exactrac capabilities; Varian Trilogy with image guidance; Varian IX with image guidance; Varian Bravos HDR unit; and GE wide bore CT Simulator.  Treatment planning systems include Varian Eclipse, Velocity, BrainLab Elements and I-Plan.    The electronic medical record system is ARIA.

Physics QA Equipment and Accessories:

• SNC ArcCheck, solid water phantoms, IC Profiler, Daily QA3, 1D scanning tank, energy kit, mounting fixture and edge detector.
• RadCalc, PipSpro, Lucy Phantom, Quasar Respiratory phantom
• Radformation (ClearCheck, ClearCalc, EZfluence, AutoContour)
• Omnipro Accept 7.4 and IBA Blue phantom 2 various Ion Chamber detectors.

The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Medical Physics from an accredited college or university
• Board certification in therapeutic physics by the ABR
• 3+ years of experience preferred, but entry level will be considered
• In-depth  working knowledge of treatment planning to include SRS, SBRT, and HDR
• Strong background in all aspects of radiation oncology physics and radiation safety
• Experience in Linear Accelerator quality assurance  
• Strong organization and oral / written communication skills
• Must be a team player able to show respect to all members of NLCI 

Preferred Experience:

• Working knowledge of Varian linear accelerators
• Working knowledge of Bravos HDR afterloader
• Working knowledge of Eclipse TPS
• Working knowledge of ARIA
• Working Knowledge of BrainLab TPS

Duties will include:

• Full range of on-site clinical medical physics support
