Medical Physics Resident 2024 – Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago

Loyola University Medical Center, Department of Radiation Oncology, seeks a Medical Physics Resident for a 2 year CAMPEP accredited training program in therapeutic radiation oncology physics to start on July 15, 2024. Under the supervision of qualified Medical Physicists and Staff, the resident will be engaged in all aspects of clinical medical physics in support of patient care and quality assurance of equipment.

Qualifications:  Graduation from a CAMPEP accredited Medical Physics MS/PhD Graduate Program or Certification Program

The Residency Program in Radiation Oncology Physics at the Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) is intended to provide comprehensive practical training in all aspects of clinical physics. Department staff includes 9 medical physicists participating in a wide array of clinical, teaching and funded research activities. The department also has 7 radiation oncologists, 6 dosimetrists, 2 medical physics residents, 7 radiation oncology residents, and an IT specialist. The Department is equipped with 5 Varian linear accelerators (including a 2100Ex, 3 TrueBeam Linacs and an Edge system), a High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy unit (Oncentra), and 3 CT simulators.
