Our residency is structured as a three-year training program covering all aspects of imaging physics. This training will encompass a clinical physicist's duties including quality control, dosimetry, MR safety, site planning, informatics, quality improvement, and data analysis. In addition, there are optional rotations for Programming/Image Analysis, PET, and Nuclear Medicine. Training progress will be monitored through regular meetings with program leadership, oral examinations, and presentations.
Residents are encouraged to be active in the larger physics community. Residents receive five days attendance and ten days presentation with reimbursement to attend conferences. Additionally, senior residents are given paid days to interview for fellowship or employment. Residents have access to a trainee-only gym including classes with the Mayo Integrative Health Department. Mayo Clinic Arizona provides competitive salary and free parking to all residents. Our program will participate in the National Medical Physics Match Program (https://natmatch.com/medphys/). Interested applicants must register for the Match and
apply through the AAPM Medical Physics Residency Application Program (MP-RAP) at http://www.aapm.org/mprap/. Application deadline is January 8th. Applicants must have completed a doctorate from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program, certificate program, or equivalent. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in remote video conference interviews and optional site visit.
