About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Laboratory of Advanced Computed Tomography Imaging (LACTI - https://www.med.upenn.edu/CTResearch/) at the University of Pennsylvania. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects involving the development and optimization of next-generation CT imaging systems, including spectral and photon-counting CT, 3D printing, and deep learning algorithms. The successful candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to explore novel CT technologies, improve image reconstruction algorithms, and enhance data acquisition techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and contribute to research projects in the field of computed tomography (CT).
Develop and implement novel algorithms for CT image reconstruction, data processing, and artifact reduction.
Conduct experimental tests to validate new CT technologies and evaluate system performance.
Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and other scientific venues, and contribute to high-impact publications.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Experience with CT hardware and system optimization is a plus.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in imaging applications (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and produce high-quality scientific publications.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of deep learning or AI techniques applied to medical imaging or CT data.
Strong background in computed tomography (CT) technology, including image reconstruction techniques, data acquisition, or detector design.
Experience with experimental setups and laboratory instrumentation in CT systems.
