A full-time position is immediately available for a Chief Medical Physicist at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in North Central Pa. The person hired in this position will provide medical physics services at UPMC Williamsport – Divine Providence Campus located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Our radiation oncology center is ACRO-accredited and equipped with state-of-the-art Varian linear accelerators with IGRT capabilities. Other equipment and capabilities of our center include Elekta Flexitron HDR brachytherapy, Eclipse treatment planning system, ARIA record and verification, and a large bore GE CT simulator.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Guidance of North Central PA Physic and Dosimetry clinical staff.
Addressing clinical challenges and optimizing patient care.
Regular Quality assurance testing of radiotherapy equipment and treatment delivery processes.
Oversee and guide the development and documentation of performance specifications, procedures, testing, and frequency of all therapy equipment.
SRS/SBRT and IMRT treatment planning.
Maintain compliance of NRC and state rules and regulations as well as adhere to ACRO and AAPM Task Group guidelines.
The successful candidate will be joining the team as a second Medical Physicist along with, two Radiation Oncologists, two Dosimetrists, and six Radiation Therapists. You will have the full support of the Medical Physics Division. The Division’s goal is to scale advanced techniques across the network to enable high-quality care close to patients’ homes.
A M.S. or PhD degree in Medical Physics is required. Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Therapy Physics or Radiological Physics, American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP), and five years of clinical experience is required.
