Assists Senior Radiation Physicist in the performing of required functions within the institution. Taking major responsibilities for daily, weekly, monthly and annual machine calibration and QA activities, patient dosimetry QA activities, and basic patient dosimetry activities effectively utilizing a wide variety of resources. Participates in a wide variety of patient quality assurance and third party regulatory standards. Assumes a key supporting role in hospital wide radiation safety program and on the Radiation Safety Committee.
Position Qualifications:
Experience:
-Must have 3-5 years experience in clinical medical physics in a hospital setting.
Education and Training:
-M.S. or PhD. in Medical Physics or Radiologic Science. -Completion of the CAMPEP accredited residency program is preferred.
License, Certification & Registration:
-ABR - Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology or Radiation Oncology Physics by the American Board of Medical Physics, or in the process to obtain the certification
Other Requirements:
-Must demonstrate independent judgment and decision making capabilities. -Must be able to move and lift patients, equipment and supplies as needed. -Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. -Attendance at all mandatory education is required
