The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and Tampa General Hospital is accepting applications for an ABR Certified Medical Physicist at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Professor level. Candidates with strong clinical, research and teaching backgrounds are being recruited to provide services across the health system.
The Department is experiencing rapid growth and treats approximately 1000 patients annually. Clinical services are provided at the Tampa General Hospital and three clinical locations within the Tampa region. A fourth comprehensive outpatient cancer center developed in collaboration with Mass General Brigham, Mass General Cancer Center is expected to be operational in 2025 and the first proton center in the Tampa Bay region by 2026. The department utilizes national standardization guidelines and is equipped with the latest technology including Halcyon, Truebeam, CyberKnife, HDR, Radiopharmaceuticals, AI platforms for dosimetry, 3D printing, and others.
The successful candidate will possess strong clinical and interpersonal skills, provide excellent clinical care in collaboration with disease specific oncology teams, participate in multidisciplinary clinics when necessary, and perform clinical research with mentorship by senior faculty as appropriate. Career development, in particular for early/mid-career faculty, will be a priority. For qualified candidates, leadership opportunities which support the clinical, research and educational missions of the TGH Cancer Institute and the College of Medicine will be available.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD, DMP, DSc or MS degree in Medical Physics and Board Certification/Eligibility in Therapeutic Medical Physics
Must have current, unrestricted, medical licensure in the state of Florida or be eligible for unrestricted licensure in the state of Florida
Academic credentials that qualify for appointment at the rank of instructor, assistant professor, associate professor or professor
