Harbin Clinic is seeking a Chief Medical Physicist for an opening in Rome, GA. This position will serve as a leader within the radiation oncology department and will have a key role in integrating new technology in the future. The ideal candidate should be a board certified therapeutic medical physicist with 5+ years of experience, including ARIA, Eclipse, and Varian Linacs. HDR experience and previous recognition on a RadMat license is required.
You will supervise medical physics services provided by your team, consisting of yourself, a second licensed, board-certified Medical Physicist, and two CMDs. This is not a training position and close familiarity with Eclipse for conventional 3D, HDR, IMRT/VMAT, SBRT, and SRS is expected. You will perform HDR planning, treatments, and source calibrations. The Chief Physicist is expected to be an active leader in the development and implementation of planning, treatment, and QA protocols. The successful candidate will require minimal supervision, be a self-starter, take initiative, and be able to take direction.
The Radiation Oncology Department is ACR accredited and includes a CT simulator and three Linac vaults. Simulation is done on a Philips Big Bore simulator with 4D. Vaults one and two contain Varian 21iX Silhouette units, and Vault two also holds a VariSource HDR unit. Vault three contains a TrueBeam v2.7. All three linacs have AlignRT/OSMS installed. We typically treat 50-60 external beam patients per day, HDR includes gyn and skin applications. Physics equipment includes a ScandiDose Delta4, Portal Dosimetry, IBA water tank, Sun Nuclear Profilers, Standard Imaging PIPSpro software, Standard Imaging QA Pilot, and a range of ion chambers and phantoms. We currently use ARIA v15.6. Treatment planning is done on Eclipse equipped with Radformation.
