The Department of Radiation Oncology, College of Medicine & Life Sciences at the University of Toledo invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor (or higher rank if appropriate) position in Medical Physics. All Medical Physics faculty in the Department are committed to working with our clinicians to help deliver the highest level of patient care as befitting an academic medical center. At our academic institution, this commitment is married with the desire to advance the field of medical physics and radiation therapy through research and teaching. Medical physics faculty will oversee all aspects of the quality assurance procedures for the department, teach, and supervise medical physics residents, and students in our CAMPEP-accredited residency and graduate programs.
The new faculty member will be given protected time of no less than one day per week for research, scholarly activities, and the pursuit of academic promotion and tenure. Clinical responsibilities will be shared with other medical physicists, and not be excessively burdensome. All faculty at U. Toledo are committed to engaging in teaching, research, and service. We have strong, nationally-recognized and CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics MS, PhD, and residency programs. Students and residents are an integral part of our Department, and receive practical training in a large open office space with private faculty and staff offices located adjacent. There is daily close interaction with clinical faculty and staff, with frequent team-building events. Faculty are active in the community through SDAMPP, ASTRO, AAPM, AAMC local chapters, and the ABR. New faculty would be encouraged to participate at a national level whilst also providing input into our clinical processes and helping us to improve in the education of students and residents.

The Department of Radiation Oncology, a part of the Dana Cancer Center, located on the Health Science campus of the University of Toledo. The campus is dominated by the medical school which recruits 175 enthusiastic learners into each class. Under the leadership of Dr. Mersiha Hadziahmetovic, our Department offers an excellent environment to support junior faculty and foster collaboration and academic endeavors. We offer robust pathways for faculty development and academic promotion. Our vision is to grow our Department by expanding our research program, clinical services, and encouraging collaborations.
The equipment offered at the Dana Cancer includes a Varian Truebeam, Varian Edge, Philips PET-CT Sim, RayStation, ARIA, MIM, SNC PerFraction, and a wide selection of quality assurance software and hardware.

Qualifications
The minimum requirements for this faculty appointment include having a PhD or other terminal degree and be ABR eligible. The ideal candidate will have graduated from a CAMPEP accredited graduate program and have either completed a CAMPEP accredited residency or be a diplomate of the ABR in Therapeutic Medical Physics. Compensation is competitive based on AAPM salary survey data and is complemented by a competitive benefits package including tuition support for dependents and generous state teacher retirement plans.
