Texas Oncology is seeking a Certified Medical Physicist to join our Waco, TX Team! The successful candidate will be part of a physics group consisting of 13 other physicists, a medical physics assistant, two physics residents, and 17 dosimetrists covering eight facilities in the Central Texas region. This group supports 9 radiation oncologists in a busy practice setting. The position will primarily provide onsite medical physics coverage for the Waco Cancer Center and will collaborate remotely with other sites in the region.
The Waco clinic houses a Varian 23iX and a 21CD (to be replaced with a TrueBeam), Elekta Nucletron HDR, and busy SBRT, SRS, Xofigo, and Prostate Seed programs. The Waco site is supported by one radiation oncologist, two dosimetrists, and five radiation therapists. The Central Texas Region shares an Eclipse and ARIA database, as well as a range of RadFormation products, MIM, Radcalc, and a wide variety of Sun Nuclear QA equipment.

Responsibilities will include:
All aspects of radiation oncology physics, including quality assurance, external beam, and brachytherapy clinical support.
The Waco clinic houses Varian 23iX and 21CD linacs, Elekta Nucletron HDR and busy SBRT and SRS programs. Treatment planning is performed in Eclipse.
There are plans to replace the 21CD unit with a TrueBeam.
Qualified candidates will have a:
MS or PhD in Medical Physics or closely related field and board certification by the ABR is preferred
The position requires licensure in the state of Texas.

Additionally, must be able to align treatment field and monitor patient during radiation therapy treatment.
