Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking an Assistant, Associate, or Senior Member Faculty Medical Physicist. Faculty Medical Physicists have the predominant responsibility of advancing the academic vision and mission of the Moffitt Cancer Center and the Department of Radiation Oncology by excelling in clinical service, educational activities, and innovative research/developments. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and scholarly achievements. The Moffitt Cancer Center is affiliated with the University of South Florida. Primary and secondary University appointments are available, as applicable.
Currently, the department has three Trilogy, four TrueBeam, one Helical Tomotherapy, one Halcyon, and one MIRidian accelerators. Most EBRT plans are performed in the RayStation treatment planning system integrated with MOSAIQ. One TrueBeam is equipped with Brainlab Elements and HD MLC for SRS. The department also has three CT-simulators, a PET-CT simulator, an MR-simulator and an HDR afterloader. The department is growing and expected to continue to expand it footprint regionally and nationally. Department faculty actively participate in local and national clinical trials.
Qualifications: Successful candidates must have or be eligible for a Florida Medical License, an Ph.D. degree in physics, engineering, medical physics, mathematics, or closely related STEM. The successful candidate must be board certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics. Preferred experience and requirements: three (Assistant), five (Associate) or more (Senior) years of post-graduate training/working as a Therapeutic Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology.
The successful candidates should have experience with advanced radiotherapy technology such as VMAT, IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SBRT, HDR, tumor motion management, and state of the art quality assurance instrumentation and methods. Successful candidates must have evidence of a firm commitment to developing an outstanding academic career as a clinician, educator, and researcher. Research experience must be evident by a record of peer-reviewed publications. Active participation in the USF-MCC (CAMPEP accredited) Medical Physics Ph.D. program will be required.
