West County Radiological Group, Inc. (WCRG) has an immediate opening for a diagnostic medical physicist to support a large regional healthcare system consisting of multiple hospitals and associated imaging centers and clinics. Primary responsibilities would include medical physics support across all imaging modalities, with likely focus on the advanced modalities of CT, MRI, nuclear medicine/PET, and mammography. The successful candidate would be working in collaboration with other WCRG physicians, physicists, and physics assistants as well as the healthcare system’s technologists and management team. The expectation is for this position to serve as the primary physicist for the main hospital site in St. Louis, with minimal required travel outside the St. Louis metro area. If preferable to the chosen candidate, consulting responsibilities in other regions of Missouri are also possible. Opportunities for advanced projects to improve clinical care, in collaboration with WCRG physicians, would be readily available and encouraged. Candidates given the highest consideration will possess strong oral and written communication skills, technical management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Qualifications are a M.S. or Ph.D. in medical physics or a related field, with ABR certification in Diagnostic Medical Physics or Nuclear Medical Physics, however a board-eligible graduate would also be considered. WCRG offers a very competitive salary with an exceptional benefit package including paid vacation, 401k retirement, profit sharing, health, dental and disability insurances, paid liability insurance, professional memberships and MOC dues, paid annual meetings and travel expenses, re-location assistance, and more.
