Woodlands Medical Specialists is a multi-specialty private practice seeking a Therapeutic Medical Physicist to join our busy and growing radiation oncology program.  After 13 years, Woodlands has recently built a 2^nd vault and installed a Varian True-Beam linear accelerator.  The new physicist will be part of a remarkably successful and well-respected team that already includes 1 physicist, 2 Radiation Oncologists, 2 dosimetrists and 5 therapists. We are a very collaborative and efficient team where we value each other's roles and contributions to what is known as the best treatment team in our area.

Requirements:

Responsibilities of the physics team include all aspects of contemporary radiation oncology physics pertaining to 3D/4D, IMRT, SBRT, SRT, and SGRT treatment modalities.  This includes recurring quality assurance, clinical duties, and acceptance testing and commissioning of new systems (predominately software, and upgrades).  No brachytherapy is currently offered (however it’s addition in the future, is a possibility).  Woodlands provides state-of-the-art equipment in an all-Varian environment (Truebeam, Trilogy, Eclipse planning, ARIA EHR, and VisionRT) with advanced QA systems (Sun Nuclear) and exclusive OEM service contracts. 

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have an MS or Ph.D. in Medical Physics and certification by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics. The position requires licensure in the state of Florida.  Successful applicants should be eligible to obtain FL Licensure upon application. (Must live in the USA) Experience with Varian TrueBeam preferred. This is a working clinical physics position in a peer-to-peer team-based environment. It is particularly important that the candidate be a team player and contribute to a positive work environment.
