The Department of Radiation Oncology at Augusta University (AU), Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in Augusta, Georgia is recruiting an Assistant Professor level full-time Faculty Medical Physicist. The applicant should be ABR certified or board eligible in Therapeutic Radiation Physics and hold at least a PhD degree in Medical Physics or related fields. The successful candidates will be expected to provide Medical Physics service in the daily clinical operation, participate in residents and student education, and research in the Medical Physics division of the Department of Radiation Oncology.

The Department of Radiation Oncology provides state-of-the-art radiation therapy which consist of three Varian Linear Accelerators, Varian Trilogy, 23 iX and Edge, and one Radixact Accelerator from Accuray. Other equipment includes Philips large-bore 4D CT-Simulator, Elekta-Nucletron HDR, Eclipse Treatment Planning System for Varian machines, and Precision Planning System for the Radixact machine, ARIA Record and Verify System, and MIM Maestro. Two Varian TrueBeam Accelerators are scheduled to replace the current Trilogy and 23 iX machines in late 2023. AU Department of Radiation Oncology staffing consists of 7 Radiation Oncologists, 5 Medical Physicists, and 4 Medical Dosimetrists. Also, AU Department of Radiation Oncology operates a CAMPEP accredited Medical Physics Residency Program with 2 Residents
