Northwest Medical Physics Center (NMPC) is looking for a physicist for our Cancer Center in breathtaking Anchorage, Alaska. The qualified candidate will join two other physicists, our physics resident, and a robust staff in this ACR accredited modern, beautiful clinic. Technology at this site includes two Elekta Agility linacs, a GammaKnife, and HDR afterloader, and just installed GE Discovery CT on the main campus, plus one Elekta linac in a satellite clinic 40 miles away. Expertise in GammaKnife, VMAT, SRS, SBRT, MOSAIQ, and Monaco is preferred. Board certification and some clinical experience are desirable but not mandatory.
In addition to hiking, fishing, and boating opportunities, Anchorage, with a metropolitan population of 400,000, has numerous cultural activities. These include adult and youth symphonies, theater with Broadway shows, a Center for the Performing Arts. Sports include hockey, baseball, rugby, and of course dog sled racing. Four higher-education facilities, including the University of Alaska, provide additional enrichment.

Northwest Medical Physics Center was founded in 1972 as a non-profit organization to provide Medical Physics consultation services. We currently furnish a variety of clinical physics and dosimetry services at more than 30 radiation therapy departments throughout the greater Pacific Northwest and beyond. NMPC has an inherent advantage in that it brings physicists into a group where the varied experience and expertise of individual physicists is pooled to produce better solutions to the clinical problems encountered.
