The Department of Radiology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN invites applicants interested in a consultant position the Division of Medical Physics. The Division of Medical Physics serves the interests and needs of both the Department of Radiology and the Mayo Clinic enterprise. The successful candidate will join a group of over 20 medical physicists and over 200 radiologists seeking to advance the goals and objectives of the Mayo Clinic. The Department of Radiology has needs for medical physics support in CT and nuclear medicine as well as serving the broader needs of the Division of Medical Physics.
This candidate should have a doctoral degree in medical physics or a related field. Specific experience/knowledge of CT and/or nuclear medicine is highly desired. Board certification or board eligibility is essential.
This position will require the following skills and interests:
Interest and experience related to CT and/or nuclear medicine.
Development and translation of innovative CT and NM imaging techniques and systems into clinical practice.
Project planning and management.
Team development, strategic thinking and acting.
Management leadership
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Scientific writing and teaching skills
The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to develop and implement tools in a Radiology environment, along with superior communication and planning skills to facilitate implementation of tools developed at Mayo or provided by external vendors. This position will work closely with the leadership of the Department of Radiology to facilitate both short term and long-term developments.
Short term developments will include:
Support growing practices in CT and nuclear medicine.
Implement Radiology specific tools for routine use.
Participate and contribute to the Division of Medical Physics as a team member.
Long term developments will include:
Advance the Radiology Practice at Mayo Clinic and help in the translation of techniques throughout the Mayo Clinic enterprise.
Support the Mayo Clinic 2030 strategic plan through technical innovation.
Support the Mayo Clinic ‘three shields’ of patient care, education, and research.
Board eligibility or board certification is required.
