West Physics has an immediate opening for a Diagnostic Medical Physicist with proven clinical. This is a full-time position based in the Chicago, IL area. It is the primary responsibility of the diagnostic medical physicist to provide medical physics quality assurance, testing, and consulting services as needed by West Physics to fulfill its mission. Primary Responsibilities:
Provide medical physics quality assurance, testing, and consulting services. Testing activities involve MRI, CT, X-ray, mammography, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound. In addition, some nuclear medicine consulting and licensing activities will be performed.
Provide ACR MRI, CT, NM/PET, US and mammography accreditation services.
Data review for CT, PET.
Conduct dose investigations and ALARA reviews.
Assist medical physicists and senior medical physicists with diagnostic radiology equipment testing.
Occasionally speak at seminars and shows and represent West Physics’ vendor booth at such events in order to bring in new business and enhance company reputation.
Prerequisites:
Master's degree (M.S.) in Medical Physics or physics-related discipline, and be ABR or ABMP board-certified or board-eligible; required
Candidate must fulfill ACR requirements & be eligible to perform accreditation-related testing of MRI & CT units.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the diagnostic imaging field with a solid foundation in radiation physics, radiation biology, electronics, and other areas relevant to equipment quality assurance testing.
The ability to understand and apply regulations from a wide variety of State and Federal entities to a variety of client situations, as well as the ability to write effective policy and procedures, Radiation Safety Manuals, and user-friendly forms.
Strong technical proficiency, the ability to manage multiple complex assignments concurrently and to completion, very strong attention to detail, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
A working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as very good general computer skills. Familiarity with Apple computers (i.e., macOS) and applications is a plus.
The flexibility to travel up to 20-30% may be required for training and to service clients outside of the Chicago, IL field office.

Board Certified (DABR or ABMP) or working toward ABR parts II and/or III
Completed Masters degree or higher in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP accredited program
