We are searching for a Director of Medical Physics in the Tampa or Greater Tampa area, Florida to join our team.
Responsible for and/or oversees the overall operations of the Radiation Physics Program.
The Director of Medical Physics will manage a team of Physicists and Dosimetrists.
Responsible for all radiation therapy locations with Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS).
Assures calibration and quality assurance of all radiation devices used to treat cancer patients.
Oversee acceptance testing and commissioning of all new treatment equipment prior to clinical use as well as ensuring regulatory compliance for state agencies and other accrediting bodies.
Assess current and new technologies for application within Radiation Oncology and facilitate technical operations pertaining to Radiation Oncology.
Clinical knowledge of Varian Trilogy and TrueBeam accelerator systems, Eclipse TPS, Aria TMS, Portal Dosimetry and GammaMed HDR or equivalent types of equipment is required. Clinical knowledge of Brainlab Exac Trac and Variseed TPS or equivalent types of equipment
Master's Degree in Physics and/or PhD required.
ABR certification required. (Therapeutic Medical Physics)
A valid FL TRP license is required.
A minimum of five (5) years of radiation physics experience and a minimum of one (1) year in a management/leadership role. (10 years of radiation physics and 8 years of leadership experience strongly preferred)
Possess strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills in order to adapt to a fast paced environment.
Fluency in the English language, excellent oral and written communication skills are essential as well as possessing strong communication skills to interact with diverse personalities and levels of authority.
A Valid Florida Driver's License for travel to clinics and compliance with the FCS Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.
