Seeking full time Medical Physicists to join our Radiation Oncology Physics team in Louisville, KY.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain radiation producing devices, e.g., linac, CT simulator, imaging systems, HDR and LDR programs in compliance with license requirements and assist engineers with submitting repair/calibration reports as required per State regulations. Review maintenance and service reports on linac and CT simulator and recalibrate as needed. Responsible for total quality management inclusive of QA/QC of above systems per facility policy.
Works closely with Radiation Safety Officer to establish quality control and monitor adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintains proper records necessary for state or other regulatory agencies and American College of Radiology accredited programs.
Provide overall management of clinical quality control for the physical, dosimetric, and treatment charting functions including e-chart and record and verify system if applicable.
Provide instruction for staff on radiation oncology physics relevant to the staff duties. Assist staff and physicians with planning for difficult and/or challenging cases and delivery of treatment.
Supervise and verify that the treatment planning process is carried out per facility policy and calculations, prescribed dose, and monitor units are correct for approved plans.
Perform initial, weekly, and final review of patient charts regarding dose calculation and other dosimetric and physical parameters. Final review of patient charts to be performed within five days of end of treatment.
Supervise and participate in brachytherapy services.
Participate in planning, treatment, and delivery of SRS/SRT/SBRT.
Education and Experience
M.S. in physics with concentration in radiation physics or post graduate degree that provides board eligibility by the American Board of Radiology or is DABR or equivalent DABMP
Board Certified Preferred
HDR License Preferred
