I am hiring a clinical Medical Physicist for one of our cancer centers in the NYC Metro - Hudson Valley region.
Ensures the safe use and delivery of radiation oncology procedures. Follows applicable guidance and recommendations from national organizations and ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Should be familiar with the following systems:
Varian & Elekta Linear Accelerators
RayStation treatment planning software
Elekta Nucletron HDR brachytherapy
MOSAIQ Record & Verify
GE & Philips CT/Simulators
VisionRT motion management software
Zeiss Intrabeam for Intraoperative brachytherapy
Requires a minimum of a Masters' degree in Medical Physics
Requires a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in the field of physics
NYS License required. Eligibility for certification from ABR (American Board of Radiology) or ABMP (American Board of Medical Physics) required.
Selected candidate will join a professional staff that includes 2 physics residents, 4 board-certified medical physicists, 4 medical dosimetrists, and 4 radiation oncologists. Physicists are regular employees of the system and as such enjoy a full package of benefits. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain a License to practice Medical Physics in New York state. All Physicists are permitted to attend one Physics-related conference a year in order to acquire CME credits to maintain ABR accreditation.

Nuvance Radiation Oncology in New York has four clinical Radiation Oncology centers in the mid-Hudson Valley region of New York State. The main hospital-based department is Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) located in Poughkeepsie, NY. The affiliated centers are located south in Carmel (Putnam Radiation Oncology Center, PROC) and Fishkill (FROC), and north in Kingston (Ulster Radiation Oncology Center, UROC). Carmel and Kingston, the two most widely separated centers, are approximately 55 miles apart.
All four centers are served by a single physician group that currently has four ABR-certified Radiation Oncologists. The physics group has 4 full-time licensed Medical Physicists, including one Chief of Physics and, and one Medical Physics Resident. The Dosimetry section consists of four CMDs including one Chief Dosimetrist. The therapists report to a technical manager.
