Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is currently seeking a full-time, well trained Medical Physicist to work at the Radiation Oncology Department at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Cancer Center, Cheyenne Wyoming. This is a solo physicist with highly competitive compensation and benefits.
The Radiation Oncology Department has 1 full time Radiation Oncologist, 1 certified dosimetrist, and 5 certified RTTs. The department provides conventional 3d, IMRT, VMAT robust SBRT/SRS services and HDR. The department has 1 Varian TrueBeam linac, 1 Tomotherapy (to be replaced early 2021), 1 dedicated Toshiba CT simulator with 4d CT capability, and 1 Varisource IX HDR device with Eclipse Plan System (Intergrated with Brachyvision), Accuracy Planning (TOMO HAD) System, Variseed, and Mosaiq R&V.
Requirements: Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Radiological or Medical Physics with minimum 5 years work experience in radiation oncology physics. Must be board certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics. Must be comfortable with Varian equipment. Tomo experience is not required.
To provide high quality medical physics service to patients requiring radiation therapy. To apply expertise in physics, radiotherapy instrumentation, and radiotherapy clinical fundamentals to maintain the precision standards of equipment used to plan and administer radiation treatment to cancer patients. Assures compliance with existing State, Federal, NRC, and JCAHO regulations pertaining to the use of radiation within the department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains the standardization and calibration of therapy equipment in a manner suitable for accurate radiation dose delivery.
Directs, Reviews and critiques external beam treatment plans, the use of beam modifiers and immobilization techniques for patients receiving photon and electron radiation therapy.
Makes external beam treatment plans under some special conditions.
Makes Brachytherapy treatment plans and participates in brachytherapy delivery procedures.
Takes part in SRS and SBRT CT simulation planning and treatment.
Performs SRS, SBRT, IMRT, VMAT and Brachytherapy Delivery Quality Assurance.
Develops, implements, and maintains records of safe physical use of therapy equipment.
