2-Year Residency Program Overview
In our 12th year, the goal of the UTSW program is to improve the field of radiation oncology by educating thoughtful and informed medical physicists in the profession.
2 years of full-time clinical training where instruction is given within the Department of Radiation Oncology by a team comprised of:
25 physics and engineering faculty
21 molecular radiation biology faculty
Residents become an integral part of the Department performing clinical duties and interacting closely with the entire faculty and staff
Didactic courses in medical physics available through our CAMPEP-accredited Certificate Program
The successful applicant will join a team of 7 medical physics residents currently on site.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in medical physics, physics or related field.
Preference is given to graduates of CAMPEP-accredited medical physics graduate programs Please note: All applicants are considered in the review process, including applicants from alternative pathways.
All applicants are required to have completed a minimum of 4 (of 6) graduate-level didactic courses described in AAPM Report 197S before entering the program.
Qualified to receive a temporary license through the Texas Medical Board.
