Provides administrative and technical leadership for Medical Physics support of the radiation oncology program. Conduct all aspects of radiation oncology physics including equipment calibration and commissioning, clinical support, maintenance of appropriate quality assurance for equipment and treatment delivery, compliance with radiation safety and licensing standards. Provide consultation to the Radiation Oncologists on the physical and radiobiological aspects of treatment. Translate the desired treatment plan into a set of instructions for radiation therapists to execute. Lead physics and dosimetry team. Serve as the Radiation Safety Officer for the health system.
Minimum Education & Competency Requirements:
Masters Degree or higher in the field of medical physics
Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP). Must meet qualified expert criteria defined by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State radiation agency
3- 5 years clinical experience as medical physicist; leadership experience preferred
Significant professional commitment to innovation and research in the field of cancer treatment
Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in the English language required
