Full-time (40 hours/week) - Days (7:00am - 5:00pm)
The Medical Physicist is responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance program as it relates to the safe and accurate delivery of therapeutic radiation in Radiation Oncology. Provides technical expertise in the physics and operation of radiation producing equipment, safe use of brachytherapy sources, accuracy of treatment planning systems, performs acceptance/commissioning of new technology, periodic and routine quality assurance and performance evaluation testing, patient specific quality assurance procedures, and establishes and maintains compliance with all radiation safety and protection regulations. The Medical Physicist must be able to perform all clinical functions independently with only general supervision.
Master's or Ph.D. in Medical Physics required. American Board of Medical Physicists (ABMP) or American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification in Radiation Oncology physics required or eligible for certification. Must meet the criteria to service as a HDR Brachytherapy Authorized Medical Physicist.
One to two years of medical physicist experience preferred. Training and experience sufficient to meet credentialing as the HDR Brachytherapy Authorized Medical Physicist.
