



Columbia University The Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics (APAM) at Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science in New York City invites applications for one tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor, associate professor or full professor level starting in July 2020 in the core area of medical physics. The preferred research initiative component of this position will address cross-disciplinary research objectives within Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging physics and engineering. In addition to contributing to research and education activities in APAM, the candidate is expected to contribute to the MR Research located at the Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute (ZMBBI) of Columbia University and collaborate with investigators of the Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC). The appointee will have an appointment with APAM faculty and be a member of ZMBBI. This successful candidate will be a part of the Columbia University Magnetic Resonance Research Initiative and also participate in and help further the Medical Physics Program in the Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics. Candidates will teach two classes per year in the Medical Physics program and related areas of APAM. Candidates must have a Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree, by the starting date of the appointment. Applicants at the Assistant Professor and Associate Professors without tenure must have the potential to do pioneering research and to teach effectively. Applicants at the tenured level (Associate or Full Professor) must have a demonstrated record of outstanding research accomplishments and excellent teaching credentials. The successful candidate is expected to establish multidisciplinary research collaborations with other research-related departments at Columbia University. Candidates are sought with an outstanding record of research accomplishments and the potential for future exceptional research.
