Bayhealth provides state-of-the-art cancer treatment, clinical research, care coordination, education, and prevention services.
Bayhealth Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated medical physicist for a full time position to join the medical physics team to support daily clinical services. The department is currently treating 60-65 patients per day on three Varian linear accelerators in two clinical sites (Dover and Milford, DE). HDR brachytherapy is also offered for breast and GYN patients.
The ideal candidate will have either a masters or Ph.D. in the field of medical physics and have at least two years of radiation physics experience. Candidates must be eligible for certification and complete the required certification process as defined by AAPM upon hire (ABR certified preferred). Experience should include linear accelerator treatment machines quality assurance and calibrations, chart checks, quality assurance procedures, understanding of the Quality Management Program and Process Improvement processes, and HDR brachytherapy procedures.
The health system supports two integrated cancer centers locations on the Kent and Sussex campuses approximately 20 miles apart, providing cancer services to Central and Southern Delaware communities and sees approximately 1,000 newly diagnosed cancer cases each year. Bayhealth uses EPIC Beacon and Varian ARIA / Eclipse. Bayhealth is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
Bayhealth is a member of the Penn Cancer Network of the University of Pennsylvania’s Abramson Cancer Center.
