The Enterprise Director of Medical Physics (EDMP) is a newly created position, reporting to the Enterprise Senior Vice President for Radiation Oncology, which reflects the growth and complexity of the Jefferson Health enterprise as it has expanded over the past 7 years. This exciting new role was created to enhance strategic and operational alignment across all Jefferson Health medical physics functionalities that support the Department of Radiation Oncology. The EDMP will therefore have broad overall responsibility for strategic execution in medical physics, which includes ensuring the provision of consistent, high quality and safe clinical care, and promoting operational, academic and research excellence for medical physics across the Jefferson Health system of care.
In order to fulfill the enterprise role, the EDMP will work closely with a progressive executive leadership team which includes the Enterprise Senior Vice President for Radiation Oncology (ESVPRO), the Enterprise Vice President for Radiation Oncology & Cancer Services (EVPROCS), the Enterprise Vice Chair for Radiation Oncology (EVCRO), and the Enterprise Director of Quality and Safety for Radiation Oncology (EDQSRO) to ensure that medical physics is a key partner to the enterprise radiation oncology leadership team. S/he will be responsible for creating, overseeing and implementing existing and new clinical physics programs and clinical operations, as well as for promoting outstanding research, scholarship and education within medical physics across Jefferson Health sites and institutions in conjunction with the NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center.
In addition to the previously described enterprise role, the EDMP will serve as the Director of Medical Physics for Philadelphia-based faculty and will provide oversight for Jefferson’s MS in Physics program. S/he will have primary clinical, administrative, operational and academic responsibility for managing Jefferson’s medical physics faculty at four locations: the Bodine Center for Radiation Therapy (Bodine or Bodine Center) at the flagship Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH), the nearby but operationally distinct Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience (JHN), and two regional state-of-the-art clinical sites at Riddle Memorial Hospital and Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.
