Full-time Medical Physicist position is immediately available at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Erie, PA. This person will join the chief physicist and two dosimetrists in the progressive, technologically advanced Cancer Center. Successful candidate is expected to function independently and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Primary responsibilities for this position include quality assurance testing and dosimetry calibration of radiation therapy equipment, dosimetry and clinical implementation of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS, SBRT), and various types of brachytherapy procedures. Active participation in clinical and developmental research projects is encouraged.

This is an outstanding opportunity to participate in the practical application of clinical advancements in the field of medical physics. Technologies which are currently in use at the center include:
- 2 Linear accelerators (Varian Trilogy and Edge linacs); EPID, OBI/CBCT imaging, RapidArc and respiratory gating;
- high and low dose rate brachytherapy;
- GE Discovery PET/CT scanner;
- Treatment planning and Record and Verify systems: Varian Eclipse and Mosaiq RV.
Required –M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Physics or Medical Physics; ABR/ABMP Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or Therapeutic Radiology and at least three years of clinical experience are preferred.
