Medical Physics: Radiation Oncology, Medical Physics: Radiation Oncology Dosimetry, Medical Physics: Radiological Physics - General
The Physicist supports all radiation treatment and imaging physics activities including clinical, quality assurance, safety and equipment maintenance, research and education components by performing both routine and non-routine support tasks under the general guidance using the concepts and techniques of applying physics to medicine and practical training of a medical physicist. The individual should be competent to practice therapeutic medical physics and maintain their professional skills through continuing education. The individual shall be available when necessary for consultation with the radiation oncologist, and, to provide advice or direction.
You will join a team of three physicists and three dosimetrists. Five physicians provide clinical services with four new LINACs with CBCT (providing intra-fraction and inter-fraction imaging evaluation capability) and 6D couches and two CT-Simulators (one with 4D capability), utilizing VMAT, SRS,SBRT, IGRT and HDR treatments at a single Center, with more than 100 patients a day. We have well established ArcCheck and Octavius 4D QA systems for IMRT/VMAT/SRS/SBRT modalities, along with the SNC 3D Scanner and PTW 3D scanner. We participate in many national protocols.
You would be responsible for:
Performing routine and periodic output measurements and quality assurance tests related to radiation treatment planning and therapy units.
Ensuring physics data is accurate and computation methods are precise.
Participating in all aspects of treatment planning process and chart review
Involvement in continuous quality improvement process
What will you need?
M.S. or Ph.D. in Physics or Medical Physics
At least one (1) year clinical experience
ABR Eligible required (Massachusetts DPH /RCP qualification)
Board certification desirable or candidate for board certification with an expectation to become certified within 12 months of hire.
SRS or SBRT experience preferred.
IMRT, HDR and VMAT experience a plus.
Monaco TPS, Oncentra Brachy and Mosaiq RVS familiarity a plus
