SUMMARY: The Physicist oversees the radiation therapy equipment and acceptance. The Physicist consults with the Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists and Physicists concerning patient dose, radiation exposure and safety. The Physicist oversees the radiation quality assurance programs and development.
*Note: This position involves travel to Avera's regional sites in Yankton and Mitchell, SD.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Graduate degree and successful completion of part one of ABR certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics required.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
Board eligibility for ABR preferred.
Completion of ABR certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics in six full calendar years from completion of residency training or six full calendar years from Part 2 of ABR certification approval, whichever comes first, preferred.
