Job Location – Travel:
The Physicist position is located at RTI’s U.S. office in Towaco, NJ. Flexibility to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada up to 25%.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
With the broad knowledge of the diagnostic X-ray application and measurement technology, the physicist plays a broad and important role in the company. A natural position for the physicist is to interact with the North American RTI customer base and to take part in the sales processes by understanding the customer’s needs to support and educate on RTI solutions. The US based Medical Physicist will have a strong connection to the Product Management and R&D teams in Sweden by providing market information and being a part of the Product development processes.
The Position offers an excellent opportunity to interact with some of the most excellent physicists, scientists and developers globally. The right individual will have opportunities to be an RTI representative in our engagement in Societies such as AAPM, MITA, etc.
The position also has responsibility of the RTI US calibration lab. The Medical Physicist will work in close collaboration with the RTI Lab group to make sure the US cal lab operates according to standards and in synchronization with the global RTI lab system.
Approximately 80% within Technical Sales Support and R&D Support, 20% Lab.
Prefer minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience within Diagnostic X-Ray imaging.
M.S. or PhD Degree in Medical Physics
Certification by ABR in Diagnostic Medical Physics Membership AAPM (Preferred)
Qualifications and Experience:
In-depth understanding of modalities within diagnostic X-Ray imaging (X-Ray, C-Arm, CT, Mammo, Radiography/Fluoro, Dental)
Fundamental understanding of the functionality of X-Ray units and its subsystems within different modalities
Fundamental understanding of X-Ray interaction with matter and detector systems
Desire and initiative to play a key role in project management and product development
Effective communication skills include ability to listen, teach and confidently speak to small/large groups, both technical and non-technical
Driven, educational, communicative and analytical mindset
Ability to interact and provide technical direction internally and externally
Willingness and ability to play a role in the Sales process, participate in customer meetings, conference calls, and installations
Team player in conjunction with Sales and Sales Support, practical, hands-on
Maintain and improve US X-Ray Calibration Labs according to ISO 17025 and ISO 9001.
Maintain and improve US X-Ray Calibration labs in collaboration with professionals within our international X-Ray Calibration Labs.
