Medical Physicist Department: Oncology Administration Schedule: Full time 80 (Two week Payperiod) Shift: Days Salary: Pay Grade 230 (Minimum hourly rate $58.25/hr)

The health system supports two integrated cancer centers locations on the Kent and Sussex campuses approximately 20 miles apart, providing cancer services to Central and Southern Delaware communities and sees approximately 1,000 newly diagnosed cancer cases each year.

The Medical Physicist (Uncertified) performs functions and activities in the department as directed including brachytherapy, therapeutic procedures, equipment calibration, documentation, teaching, in-services, measurements, calculations, radiation safety, and all functions associated with the improvement of quality of care in the treatment of patients. Responsibilities include all aspects of radiation physics and treatment planning/dosimetry.
Requires a Masters Degree in Physics and one (1) year of radiation physics work (e.g. intern year as part of a formal education program). Must be Registry eligible with the State of Delaware with the expectation to be registered upon employment. Must be eligible for ABR and/or ABMP certification with certification completed within 2 years of employment. Must have demonstrated expertise in the wide use of treatment planning system software, with focus in conventional radiation, 3D, and IMRT planning systems. Must have LDR brachytherapy experience. In addition, word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics based computer software systems are required. Must have the ability to effectively communicate both written and oral. Must have flexibility and the ability to demonstrate good work ethics. Must be able to work independently. Must be customer service oriented. Must have knowledge of JC (Joint Commission) and NRC regulations & guidelines.
