Novant Health is looking for an energetic, experienced Medical Physicist to join our team in the Radiation Oncology Department at their Rowan Medical Center (RMC) location in Salisbury, NC. Applicants should have an MS or PhD degree in Medical Physics or a closely related field and be Board Certified. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to be the primary Physicist at our new Cancer Center scheduled to open in the Fall of 2020. Equipment will include a new True-Beam linear accelerator and a Toshiba Aquilion CT Simulator. Additional staff includes 1 Dosimetrist, 1 Radiation Oncologist, a Department Manager, several Therapists and front office personnel. Rowan Medical Center is part of Novant Health’s “Charlotte Market” which also includes Presbyterian Medical Center (PMC) in Charlotte and Huntersville Medical Center (HMC) in Huntersville. In addition to the staff at RMC there are 4 Physicists and 4 Dosimetrists in the Charlotte Market covering 3 additional linacs, a CT Simulator and a busy HDR program.
Salisbury, NC is a picturesque small town located 45 miles north of Charlotte and 40 miles south of Winston Salem. It is close to the mountains, a number of lakes and hiking trails, and the coast is just a few hours away. There are many sporting, cultural and other events available through the numerous colleges and universities just a short drive away. Professional football (Carolina Panthers), basketball (Charlotte Hornets) and hockey (Carolina Hurricanes) are played in Charlotte and Raleigh.
