The Barren River Regional Cancer Center is a freestanding radiation therapy center in Southcentral Kentucky, with 16 years of established excellence in care. The center treats approximately 25 patients per day using a Trilogy Linear Accelerator. No brachytherapy is performed. External beam therapy to include 3-D, IMRT, SBRT and intracranial SRS.
Glasgow is a friendly community with great schools, with nearby state and federal parks. The center is nearly equidistant from Nashville, Louisville and Lexington.
The Barren River Regional Cancer Center is looking for a Board Certified Medical Physicist with at least 2 years of experience. The position is permanent part time. The physicist will be responsible for all physics requirements for the office, including but not limited to monthly, quarterly and annual QA, weekly chart checks, machine calibration, and treatment planning. Some requirements can be accomplished via remote access, but candidate must be available Monday – Friday for machine calibration as needed.
Requires a Masters Degree in Physics and two (2) years of radiation physics work preferred. Must have ABR and/or ABMP certification. Demonstrated expertise in the use of treatment planning system software, with focus in conventional radiation, 3D, IMRT, SBRT and SRS planning systems. Must have the ability to effectively communicate both written and oral. Must have flexibility and the ability to demonstrate good work ethic. Must be able to work independently. Must be customer service oriented. Must have knowledge of JC (Joint Commission) regulations & guidelines. Candidate will be responsible for all administrative duties necessary to comply with state and federal guidelines.
