MedStar RadAmerica II, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of MedStar Health which includes ten hospitals and other healthcare entities.
We operate six centers in the Baltimore area, and one center in the Washington, DC area with six of the sites using Varian accelerators and one site has an Elekta unit. Additionally, we support a CyberKnife unit, two HDR units, and active prostate seed programs at several locations
As Senior Medical Physicist, you will join a vibrant team consisting of 12 physicists and 8 dosimetrists, in a department with a Varian TrueBean linear accelerator, Aria R&V and Eclipse TPS.
Assist in brachytherapy treatments
Attend and actively participate in journal club, chart rounds, quality assurance meetings, morbidity rounds and technical meeting and attend at least one scientific meeting annually
Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, quality, and safety standards
Comply with governmental and accreditation regulations
Make sure all charts are checked on a weekly basis and are in good order
Ensure that calibrations are performed at appropriate intervals for each machine and other equipment
American Board of Radiology Certification in therapeutic physics is
MS degree or higher in Medical Physics or a closely related discipline
At least 5 years of experience
Clinical expertise in SRS, SBRT, IMRT, IGRT and brachytherapy
Excellent communication skills, strong leadership attributes and a well-developed knowledge of clinical medical physics are desirable
Familiarity with both Philips and Siemens CT-Simulators and associated QA is a plus.
