Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) in Allentown, PA is looking for a board-certified Medical Physicist to join our team. The candidate will join a team of 5 medical physicists (4 staff + 1 Chief), 5 dosimetrists, and 6 radiation oncologists. LVHN offers state-of-the-art treatment on 4 Varian linacs (1 TrueBeam, 1 Edge, 2 C-series), Gamma Knife ICON, HDR and a prostate seed program at our main facility, plus 2 additional Varian linacs (1 TrueBeam, 1 iX) at a satellite facility. The ideal candidate would have experience in those modalities, as well as Mosaiq, Eclipse, RPM, OSMS and Calypso. Duties will include, but are not limited to, quality assurance for patient plans and equipment, weekly and end-of-treatment chart checks, and consultations with Rad Onc staff.
JobSummary: Under the direction of the Chief Physicist, the person in this position effectively contributes to departmental operations through participation in clinical activities, performance of quality assurance procedures, calibration of radiation therapy treatment equipment, implementation of new technologies, and development of new procedures.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Physics with emphasis in Medical Physics or advanced knowledge necessary to apply radiation therapy physics principles. Formal physics and mathematics training as required for job duties and to be eligible for certification by the American Board of Radiology. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to coordinate radiation treatment and treatment planning actives among physicians and technical staff.
Licensure and Certifications: Certification in Therapeutic Radiological physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American board of Radiology.
