Medical Physics: Diagnostic Imaging
Immediate opening for a diagnostic medical physicist who will develop and oversee QA programs for our Montvale NJ and Nassau NY regional centers. Although this physicist will be mainly responsible for radiologic QA programs, there are opportunities to become involved in other aspects of Diagnostic Medical Physics and clinical research. We provide QA/QC programs for more than 360 X-ray, ultrasound systems and diagnostic monitors at our Main Campus, in various locations of Manhattan plus at our 7 regional centers located on Long Island, Westchester, and New Jersey.
Reporting to the head of diagnostic x-ray quality assurance section, you will provide leadership, management, and specialized technical knowledge for the diagnostic x-ray imaging quality assurance program at MSKCC for our 2 new regional centers at Montvale NJ and Nassau NY. Your main responsibilities will be:
Equipment testing ,calibration, and QA: Develops and maintains quality assurance programs and techniques to insure efficacy of the program in a changing technical and regulatory environment.
Project Planning and Coordination: Participates in development and supports implementation of quality assurance projects and protocols in various clinical areas.
Equipment Planning and Technical Support: Researches and evaluates possible new equipment, plans installation, and provides technical support.
Training/Education/Research: Investigation of a current technical and scientific level of new innovations
Educate and train all levels of Center staff to ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and institutional requirements.
Two - Four Years of experience in radiological physics, or equivalent.
Familiarity and education in electronic systems, computers and digital imaging systems, along with familiarity with precision experimental design, measurement and instrumentation.
NY State Diagnostic Radiology Physics Permit required
ABR Part I or Part II eligible and expected to be certified in 2 years required
NJ State CT and Radiographic Licenses preferred
FDA/MQSA qualification preferred

Salary and Benefits
