Medical Physics: Radiation Oncology, Medical Physics: Radiological Physics - General
Flexible scheduling, open to hiring at part-time or fulltime status.
The function of the medical physicist is to render assistance and guidance to the Radiation Oncologist(s), Dosimeters, Radiation Therapists, and Department Manager in matters pertaining to the physics of Radiation Therapy. The physicist, under the direction of the Radiation Safety Committee, will share the responsibility for management of the radiation safety program within the Radiation Oncology department.
PhD in Medical Physics or equivalent and ABR certification required (eligible status not qualified, all three parts must be completed, certified in full). Eligible to obtain state licensure by start date (i.e. Illinois: IEMA). Knowledgeable in HDR Policies and Procedures and capable of planning HDR treatments preferred. Knowledgeable in and capable of planning IMRT, SRS and SBRT treatments, including arcs, required.
There is one Physicist for Rockford, IL (the current opening) and one for Janesville, WI. The two assist each other with vacation coverage.
