The Department of Radiation Oncology at Mercy Hospital is seeking a motivated clinical medical physicist to join our team of Clinicians. The candidate is expected to participate in radiation therapy physics activities: machine calibrations, equipment QA, treatment planning and related planning reviews, dosimetry measurements, calculations, brachytherapy, radiation safety per AAPM guidelines. The candidate will join a new physics leadership with team of 2 physicists, 3 dosimetrists, and 3 physicians. Excellent communication skills and critical thinking are essential.
ABR certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics
Knowledge of radiation oncology and related technology standards and protocols normally acquired through completion of a Master’s Degree in Medical or Radiological Physics from an AAPM accredited institution.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Radiation Oncology Physicist
Eligible to be an AMP for HDR in the state of Missouri

VariSource iX HDR afterloader system
Philips Brilliance big-bore CT simulator
RaySearch, Tomotherapy, BrachyVision and Multiplan TPS
Velocity imaging and contouring software
Mosaiq R&V system
Performs other duties as assigned by the Medical Director, Chief Physicist or department Director.
