The Coborn Cancer Center’s Radiation Oncology Service Line based in St. Cloud, MN is looking for a Medical Physicist to join their award-winning team.
The program operates from three sites with a total of four linacs and will embark on moving to a fully integrated treatment platform beginning the fall of 2017. In addition, we will be expanding programs and services in our quest to become a premier radiation oncology program for our region.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Daily, monthly and annual Quality Assurance of all equipment; will implement and conduct appropriate procedures for the planning and delivery of radiotherapy including commissioning, development of policy, procedure and safety practices.
Consults with our team of four Radiation Oncologists regarding patient care from planning to treatment delivery. Clinical competence in generating treatment plans in addition to review of plans generated by our dosimetrists. Acts as a resource and provides education for dosimetry, radiation therapists and nursing staff while working closely with the department director to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care.
Acts in compliance with federal, state and Joint Commission standards.
EDUCATION M.S. or higher degree in Medical Physics required.
EXPERIENCE Five years post graduate experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, must enjoy working in a fast paced environment with a team that values collaboration, shared decision making and safety while putting patients first.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Current certification in Radiation Oncology Physics by the American Board of Radiology, the American Board of Medical Physics (ABR or ABMP).
