Montefiore Health System has an opening within its Clinical Physics Service of the Division of Therapeutic Medical Physics. We are seeking a Therapeutic Medical Physicist with a strong clinical background and demonstrated ability and interest in clinical program development to work at one of our satellite facilities. This position requires a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics or a closely-related field, ABR certification, an unrestricted New York State License to practice Therapeutic Radiological Medical Physics, and a minimum of three years of clinical experience in IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, motion management, SRS/SBRT, and HDR. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall clinical coverage, and conducting clinical development under the department’s guidelines. The successful candidate will be joining an existing clinical physics team of 1 physicist and 1 dosimetrist.
Montefiore Health System has a large and cutting-edge program in all aspects of Therapeutic Medical Physics that seeks to improve the clinical effectiveness of radiation therapy in partnership with radiation oncologists, radiologists and other medical professionals. Many new programs in radiation therapy research and development are ongoing, including: the development and clinical use of predictive models (tumor control and normal tissue complication probability) in treatment planning, the integration of MR imaging into radiotherapy process and treatment planning, 4D imaging and motion management, and the development adaptive radiotherapy processes. Montefiore Health System radiation oncology and medical physics resources include 6 linear accelerators (2 True Beam, 1 Edge, 1 Trilogy, 2 2100iX Varian Accelerators), 1 Accuray Hi-Art Tomotherapy, 1 Accuray Radixact , 2 Nucletron and 1 GammaMed HDR machines across 5 locations, CT, MR and PET scanners for radiation oncology applications, as well as state-of-the-art inter- and intra-fractional imaging and motion management capabilities.
