Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics or closely aligned discipline with at least one year of relevant clinical experience and a publication track record. Qualified candidates must be board certified or board eligible (minimum part 1 completed) in Medical Physics or equivalent by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years clinical experience and a strong propensity for extramural support. The successful candidate will have leadership qualities, advanced problem-solving skills, and work well in a team environment.
The Radiation Oncology Department and its satellite facilities are equipped with Varian and TomoTherapy linacs, a Philips Big Bore CT simulator, an Elekta Perfexion Gamma Knife, a Sensus SRT-100 superficial machine, a dedicated 3D MRI-guided focused ultrasound, and a Gulmay small animal irradiation and imaging platform. External beam treatment planning is carried out on Philips Pinnacle3, and TomoTherapy. Varian BrachyVision is used in our HDR/LDR brachytherapy program, where procedures are performed in an image guided brachytherapy suite with a CT on rails system. Current development programs include automated quality assurance and treatment planning techniques, image-guided adaptive radiation therapy, treatment optimization on time-dependent anatomy, and clinical outcome assessment.
