We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Diagnostic Medical Physicist to join the Radiation Physics & Safety Team. Selected candidate will maintain a QA program that includes testing all imaging devices consistent with regulatory & accreditation requirements. Additional responsibilities include monitoring radiation dosimetry for personnel, reviewing & approving policies and procedures, consulting in equipment planning and performing acceptance testing as needed, ensuring State, ACR, MQSA & Joint Commission compliance, performing radiation shielding calculations, monitoring patient dosimetry, educating staff & physicians as needed, teaching Physics as part of the Radiology Resident Program, and performing other duties as assigned. Primary coverage will be at Morristown Medical Center, with cross-coverage for other AHS facilities. This position will report to the Manager/Chief Physicist. Qualified candidate will also manage the Radiation Safety Program as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) at some of the AHS facilities, ensure compliance with regulations on radioactive material use, and provide 24/7 radiation safety support during emergent situations. Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families. Must have MS in Medical Physics (or related field), ABR certification in Diagnostic Medical Physics or Nuclear Medical Physics or ABMP certification in Diagnostic Imaging Physics and have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience. Must be qualified as an RSO as per NRC regulations, be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications and have excellent communication skills.
